MOD 1 Laser Device Description

This MOD 1 Laser is applicable across all modern firearm platforms. The device features a high intensity 450nm Blue Laser, 780nm IR Laser for night vision, and wired control switch. The unit is constructed out of 6061 Aluminum, weighs 5.8 Oz, and measures 9 picatinny slots in length (control pad measures 11 picatinny slots). The onboard controls include a 3 position switch to select between Off, Visible, and Infrared mode. The unit has 2 laser activation buttons which can be found on the top and rear side of the unit. The unit’s windage and elevation knobs can be found on the right side and top of the unit to zero the laser.

The device also has 2 buttons (+/-) for controlling the laser’s intensity settings across 4 levels of power output at 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%. This allows the operator to regulate the beam intensity across varying surroundings and environments.

The laser can also be operated via the wired control unit. Connecting the control pad allows the device to be operated remotely from a wide variety of configurations enabling the operator to tailor the setup to their preferences. The laser control pad features a button pad, intensity knob, and lockout switch. Clicking the button pad operates the On/Off Function, while rotating the intensity knob allows the operator to cycle through the 4 brightness intensity settings. The lockout switch allows the operator to disable the control unit to avoid operating the laser unintentionally when not in use. When pressing either onboard laser activation button or the control pad button the laser will operate in constant mode. In constant mode the beam will stay on until the operator presses either activation button again. Double clicking either onboard laser activation button or the control pad button will toggle the unit into a strobe beacon / signaling mode. When in beacon / signaling mode the laser will continuously pulse on and off allowing the operator to designate targets and signal communications with others.

The picatinny base mount allows the unit to be mounted to all weapons with standard rails. Removing the rear port cover allows the included control pad to plug in and operate the laser. The control pad cable has an integrated locking collar. To install, the red orientation dots and cable prongs must be properly aligned. Then, as the cable is being pushed into the port, the locking collar must be pulled back to fully insert. To remove the control pad, the cable locking collar must be pulled back too. The laser is powered by 1x standard CR123A battery which can be inserted after unscrewing the front battery cap. When the laser is activated a rear facing LED light will illuminate. When the visible laser is active the rear facing indicator will illuminate red. When the IR laser is active the rear facing indicator will illuminate blue. This is to alert the operator that the laser, either in visible or infrared mode, is currently on.
