AS Designs Slip Trip – MCX/MPX | PSA JAKL | HK MP5 Description

These Slip Trips fits specific patterned firearms. These Slip Trips allow the operator to use the ARC Fire Selector in the Sig MCX/MPX | PSA JAKL | HK MP5. These slip trips are easy to install and are a great base component for new builds or upgrading your existing weapon.

MCX/MPX Slip Trip:

NOT COMPATIBLE WITH MCX .308/.277 FURY

To use the super safety in the MCX 5.56/300BO/7.62×39, you will need a super safety or ARC-Fire, standard AR FCG or Geissele MCX FCG, and this slip trip kit. This kit is compatible with Geissele triggers (modified for super safety/ARC-Fire use), BUT IF YOU USE A SUPER SAFETY do not use the MCX/MPX specific models from Geissele as the hammer will not work. This kit includes a lever blocker built-in to the trip guide so you do not need to purchase the separate lever blocker.

PSA JAKL Slip Trip:

We are now offering a Slip Trip Kit for the PSA JAKL in 5.56/.223 and 300BO. This kit is fully machined and ready for super safe or ARC-Fire action! This kit includes:

• JAKL-15 Trip
  • 7075-T6 Aluminum
  • Hardcoat Black Anodized
• JAKL Rear Takedown Lug Block
  • 4140 Steel
  • Heat Treated – Black Oxide
• (4x) 8-32×3/8” Torx Screws

You will need the normal AR Super Safety kit (trigger, cam, lever, and detent) or ARC-Fire kit and those parts install as normal. This kit is in addition to those items for the PSA JAKL-15 in either 5.56/.223 or 300BO, it will fit both.

PLEASE NOTE:

THIS KIT IS DESIGNED TO FIT THE “GEN 2” JAKL-15. WE HAVE DISCOVERED THE “GEN 1” JAKL-15 UTILIZES A FLAT BOLT FACE WHICH WILL DAMAGE THE SLIP TRIP. YOU CAN STILL USE THIS KIT, BUT THE FACE OF THE BOLT WILL NEED TO BE SLIGHTLY MODIFIED FOR TWO CHAMFERS/CUTS AT THE BOTTOM. WE WILL PROVIDE PICTURES AS WELL AS A JIG FILE FOR MODIFYING IT, YOU MAY ALSO WATCH DESK POP’S VIDEO ON YOUTUBE WHERE HE EXPLAINS THE PROCESS AS WELL. YOU CAN SEE THE BOLT COMPARISON HERE. THIS KIT DOES NOT FIT THE JAKL-9, JAKL 308, OR OTHER JAKL VERSIONS.

We strongly recommend using anti-walk pins (NOT anti-rotation) in all AR style lowers.

JAKL 13.7″ and 14.5” 5.56 uppers have a production change that causes issues with the JAKL trip. They widened a part of the bolt by about 0.2mm which is causing the trip to bind/drag. We are working on a solution, but if you’re willing to modify the trip, we recommend putting a chamfer on those rails 1.5 -2mm wide at roughly a 45° angle. It doesn’t have to be precision machining. A hand file will do. If you don’t have a caliper, a hammer spring is roughly 1mm in diameter.

We currently recommend the PSA JAKL-15 Trip Kit be installed by a licensed gunsmith, specifically the Rear Takedown Lug Block. PSA uses significant amounts of red Loctite threadlocker and high torque when the screws are installed at the factory. We have experienced issues with removal of the screws and it may require them to be drilled out. The difficulty will vary from upper to upper, some simply require high heat applied to the screws, but we cannot make any guarantees. If you are not comfortable with these risks, DO NOT order this product. AS Designs will not be responsible for any damages to your JAKL-15.

MP5 Slip Trip:

NOT GUARANTEED COMPATIBLE WITH LEE SPORTING LOWERS!!!

To use the super safety or ARC-Fire in the MP5 (SP5, AP5, etc.), you will need a new lower that uses AR FCG parts and the MP5 Slip Trip. You can get the lowers from AS Designs or any Leber V2 spec lower. The super safety or ARC-Fire does NOT work with the stock MP5 lowers.

• The metal V3 trip has a much larger clearance so that there is either very little need to dremel the rear sear denial block or none at all.
